In a recent announcement regarding series A financing, Singapore-based GuardTime says it has raised USD $8 million from a list of investors which includes Hong Kong-based Horizons Ventures, Ambient Sound Investments, Infocomm Investments Pte Ltd., and Japan's FITOne Capital. The funding is expected to be instrumental in helping GuardTime deploy its global data integrity infrastructure.

Internet security application developer Armorize Technologies is set to receive a new round of Series-B financing. Though the amount of the financing has not been released, the list of investors includes Ambient Sound Investments (ASI), Birch Venture Capital, and previous Armorize Series-A investors.

The developers of the Mendeley social software recently announced the close of its first round of funding acquisition. Leading the effort were investments from former Last.fm executive Stefan Glänzer, Alejandro (Alex) Zubillaga, formerly with the Warner Music Group, and private equity firm Ambient Sound Investments which was established by four of the co-founders of Skype. Mendeley put the value of this first round of funding at USD 2 million.

A round of investments to provide live on-demand English and Mandarin language training supplier, Idapted, with financing has closed. The Series A financing was led by Gobi Partners and Ambient Sound Investments (ASI). The funds are designed to give Idapted capital to further expand its customer base and leverage its online tools www.studichinese.com and www.eqenglish.com, which teaches the basics of Chinese for non-native speakers. The level of investment by each company is unknown at this time.

MyHeritage has acquired Kindo through a deal in which Ambient Sound Investments (ASI) will exit the company in exchange for an undisclosed equity stake in the company. This exit deal, the first for ASI, was made after the company invested heavily in Kindo in February 2008. The transaction will allow Kindo users to access the technology developed by MyHeritage.
