Accel Partners Leads $20m Funding Round for KupiVIP.ru

KupiVIP.ru, the Russian online shopping club led by CEO Oskar Hartmann, recently concluded a third round of new funding to the tune of USD 20 million. U.S.-based Accel Partners led the round and was joined by previous investors Arlan, Direct Group, Mangrove Capital Partners, and Oliver Jung. KupiVIP.ru has managed to raise a total of USD 31 million after its first to rounds brought in USD 3 million and USD 8 million, respectively. The new funding will be used to improve logistics and operational infrastructure.

KupiVIP Has New Minority Investor in Direct Group

KupiVIP.ru, the Russian online shopping club has a new minority investor in Direct Group, the market expansion firm headed by Pascal Clément. As part of the deal, whose financial details have not been disclosed, Clément will be given a seat on KupiVIP.ru’s Board. Direct Group plans to bring the same industry expertise it utilized in previous portfolio company Ozon.ru, to the table at KupiVIP.ru, hoping to gain up to 3% of the market within the next few years. Other KupiVIP.ru investors include Mangrove Capital Partners, Arlan and ABRT Fund.

Second Round Nets Another USD 8 Million for KupiVip

Russia's KupiVip.ru, an online shopping club specializing in discounted fashions and accessories, has raised USD 8 million in financing from investors Mangrove Capital Partners, Arlan, and ABRT Fund. The transaction increases the total investment the three companies have made in KupiVip.ru, adding to the USD 3 million deal put together last year.

European investment group, Mangrove Capital Partners, along with Moscow-based ABRT Venture Fund and Arlan Investment Group have invested USD 18 million into online shopping club KupiVIP, operated by Privat Trade Ltd. The funds will assist the KupiVIP to establish itself in the untapped Russian market.
