Making good on a planned IPO announcement from parent company MCI Management last fall, ABC Data has begun in earnest the process which will see it listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE). The Polish IT company has tendered an issue prospectus to their government's Financial Supervisory Commission and hope to be ready for listing by mid-2010. MCI Management, which will retain control of ABC Data after the IPO, estimates the offering could be worth between PLN 50-100 million, utilizing both institutional and individual investors.

The CEO of Polish private equity firm MCI Management has announced preparations for IPOs of two of its portfolio companies. MCI expects IT company ABC Data to be listed on the Warsaw market by the middle of 2010, while travel services website Invia.cz will be converted to a joint-stock company in the near future. It's not yet clear whether Invia.cz will eventually be listed on the Prague or Warsaw markets.

Following a June announcement that MIH Allegro B.V. was in negotiations to acquire internet portal Bankier.pl from MCI Management, the deal was completed on August 6, 2009. Allegro has followed through on its plans and has purchased 6,013,052 shares of Bankier.pl, equaling a controlling stake of just over 83%. The shares were acquired via a call for subscription and added to Allegro's securities account on August 5th. The majority share now makes Bankier.pl a subsidiary company of MIH Allegro.

Invia.cz, the travel portal financed primarily by MCI.TechVentures, has completed a deal to purchase 100% ownership of one of its competitors, NetTravel.cz. Invia.cz also acquired LastMinute.sk in the purchase, and now hopes the consolidation of the three portals will aid in raising capital as the company prepares to enter the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The merger is not expected to have any significant impact on end users of the three portals.

MCI Management is poised to sell internet portal Bankier.pl to Allegro, an E-commerce portal owned by South African media giant Naspers. Naspers has made a public tender offer to purchase Bankier.pl with plans to integrate the portal's financial services with Allegro's e-commerce platform. One of Bankier's current investors has already stepped on board with the deal by irrevocably committing to tender its 18.4 % stake. At a price of 8.7 zlotys per share, the purchase price would be PLN 62.8 million (USD 19.3 million).

MCI Management divested Warsaw-based Hoopla.pl, an ecommerce retail service. An unknown group of private investors acquired the 41.95% of shares in the company. Transaction details were not disclosed.

MCI.TechVentures 1.0, managed by MCI Group, acquired 24.23% of Polish company Belysia, a mobile social networking portal. The Fund will ultimately acquire up to 40% stake in the company, together with selected co-investors.

Polish investor MCI.BioVentures has invested PLN 0.9 million in DNA Serwis to claim a 31% stake in the medical diagnostics company. The initial investment marks the first round of financing that MCI has planned for DNA Serwis, with future investments targeted at a total of PLN 1.8 million. MCI should have a 47% stake in the company after all investments have been completed, with an option to increase its stake to 60%. DNA Serwis has high revenue goals in place and hopes to be profitable within two to three years.

MCI Management acquired from CMM Sp.z.o.o. 260 shares in Microtech International, representing 58.56% of the share capital of the company for the total value of PLN 4.74 million (€ 1.3 million). Furthermore, MCI Management is entitled to purchase as of March 31, 2008 the remaining 184 shares in Microtech for the agreed total amount of PLN 3.36 million (€ 0.9 million).

Intel Capital and MCI Management S.A. announced today they have invested in Nexcom Bulgaria EAD, an alternative Bulgarian telecommunications operator currently constructing a nationwide WiMAX network to deliver a bundled solution of voice and wireless Internet services.
