Nival Network Secures $5m in Venture Capital Funding

Nival Network, the Russian online gaming company owned by Nival Group, has secured significant venture capital financing which is expected to be dedicated to their newest project, Prime World. The USD 5 million deal was reached with unknown investors who see good potential in the Russian online gaming market, an industry that has received hundreds of millions of dollars in investment funding in recent years.

Prime World, a massive multi-player gaming environment, will utilize social networking features and websites. Russian internet investor, Digital Sky Technologies, is rumored to be taking a look at Nival Network and their new platform. DST has already invested significantly in Facebook and Russian social network site vKontakte.

Nival Network is part of the Nival Group, a Russian entertainment and technology firm which also includes Nival Interactive and Astrum Nival. Nival Network was established in 2008 and develops and publishes online games for audiences in Russia and CIS countries. In addition to such well known titles as Cabal Online, Khan Wars, and Dragonica, Shaiya: Light and Darkness, the company also operates the leading Russian web portal ZZima.com. Rounding out the company's business operations are two development studios located in Moscow and Minsk. Nival Group is based in Moscow and employs nearly 300 people.
