Penta acquires Slovak meat processing company Mecom
Penta Investments has acquired Mecom a.s., Humenné, one of the largest Slovak meat processing companies. The transaction was approved by the Slovak Antitrust Office (PMU).

The Mecom Group is the largest producer of meat products in Slovakia with a 28% market share. Mecom was incorporated in 1995 from a former state enterprise. Under the DRUGET brand, the Company produces durable meat products, soft salamis, soft meat products and specialities.
Total revenues reached SKK 3,946 million (€ 117.2 million) in 2007 and in total the Company has 1,514 employees. The Mecom Group exports its products especially to the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. Exports account for about 12.7% of production.
